Charlie Gubb.
Vodafone Warriors v Newcastle Knights. NRL Rugby League. Mt Smart Stadium

The Vodafone Warriors’ propping stocks have received a boost with Charlie Gubb named to make his return for the club’s Intrust Super Premiership side in Saturday’s 21st-round clash against the Mounties at Mount Smart Stadium (1.00pm kick-off).

With James Gavet and Albert Vete both sidelined with broken arms, Gubb will make his comeback after a hernia operation.

He has been included on the bench as the Vodafone Warriors seek to rebound from last week’s heavy loss to Newtown.

The 12-38 defeat cost them second spot on the table as Penrith moved level on 27 points and claimed second place on points for and against.

Also back in the line-up is wing Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad while Isaiah Papali’i returns to partner Ofahiki Ogden in the second row.

Meanwhile, the Vodafone Junior Warriors face another tough assignment taking on top of the table Cronulla in Friday night’s NYC clash.

The Vodafone Junior Warriors were without six of their originally-selected players when they took on the Cowboys last week but all are set to return this week.
