'The Bull' roars ... Jacob Lillyman sizes up Canterbury-Bankstown's defence in yet another of his quality hit-ups this season. Copyright image | www.photosport.co.nz

Vodafone Warriors prop Jacob Lillyman cranked out another big performance against St George Illawarra on Saturday night, reinforcing the rich vein of form he’s in.

The 30-year-old, just re-signed to the end of 2017, has stitched together arguably the best run of performances in his career.

Three times in the first six rounds his peers named him the players’ player of the day. He couldn’t stay off the stage when the prize packages were presented at the club’s first ‘Meet the Team’ event at SKYCITY after last Sunday’s match against the Bulldogs.

He maintained his consistency against the Dragons. One stats provider – NRL Pro – had him hitting the ball up 15 times, gaining 142 metres, making 25 tackles and coming up with no missed tackles and a clean sheet in the errors column.

The world of gathering stats is open to interpretation with NRL Stats coming up with a slightly different take - 15 runs, 126 metres, 23 tackles, one missed tackle and no errors.

Whatever the marginal differences the numbers underlined the contribution Lillyman has been making this season.

Here’s a breakdown of the key numbers from the two providers. In a word – impressive.
