Brisbane’s season is over and either Canberra or Cronulla will go the same way after today’s final week one NRL finals clash (6.00pm kick-off NZ time).
In the NYC, Penrith and South Sydney are out. The losers of today’s final week one NYC play-off between the Vodafone Junior Warriors and Canberra will survive for another week at least; the winners will advance to week three.
Game 1: Bulldogs beat Manly 16-10 to go through to week three (next week Sea Eagles play Cowboys).
Game 2: Melbourne beat South Sydney 24-6 to go through to week three (next week Rabbitohs play winners of today’s match between Canberra and Cronulla).
Game 3: North Queensland beat Brisbane (Brisbane eliminated; Cowboys play Sea Eagles next week).
Game 1: St George Illawarra beat Penrith 44-20 (Panthers eliminated; Dragons play Bulldogs next week).
Game 2: Wests Tigers beat Bulldoigs 24-20 (Tigers to week three; Bulldogs play Dragons next week).
Game 3: Sydney Roosters beat South Sydney 24-22 (Rabbitohs eliminated; Roosters play losers of today’s match between Vodafone Junior Warriors and Canberra).
