Gold Coast will be without all three of its current Origin players for tomorrow night’s 18th-round NRL encounter with the Vodafone Warriors at Skilled Park in Robina.
With Queensland loose forward Ashley Harrison already out after being forced to miss Origin III, the Titans have lost not only New South Wales second rower Greg Bird (pectoral) but it was also confirmed today they’ll be without tough forward Nate Myles (sternum).
Myles was voted the player of the Origin series after the Maroons won Wednesday night’s decider 21-20 at Suncorp Stadium.
Another player joining the casualty list today was veteran prop Luke Bailey, the former New South Wales representative failing a fitness test.
However, winger David Mead will play in tribute to his father who died this week.
The Gold Coast line-up is yet to be confirmed but back rower Ryan James and veteran prop Michael Henderson have been brought into the squad so far. One more will have to be added as well.
The team at the moment is: William Zillman, Kevin Gordon, Jamal Idris, Beau Champion, David Mead, Aidan Sezer, Scott Prince, TBC, Matt Srama, Luke Douglas, TBC, Mark Minichiello, TBC. Interchange: Matt White, Brenton Lawrence, Ben Ridge, Luke O’Dwyer, Michael Henderson Ryan James.
