Front rower Siulongoua Fotofili has collected the players’ player of the day award again following his display in the Vodafone Junior Warriors’ NYC victory over North Queensland last Sunday.
After originally being named in his familiar role as a starting prop, Fotofili (20) was moved to the interchange bench against the Cowboys, making a huge impression when he was injected.
In all he carried the ball 12 times, made 124 metres, five tackles breaks and both sparked and finished a brilliant 50th minute try. Receiving a pass from dummy half Trent Bishop about 35 metres out, Fotofili shifted the ball to his right to Sione Feao. He made an incision, threw out an overhead off load which centre Ngataua Hukatai tipped on to Fotofili who had doubled around to back up wide out on the right to score his eighth try in his 36th NYC appearance.
The Wesley College-educated Fotofili has been named to start from the interchange in tomorrow night’s 18th-round match against the Gold Coast Titans at Skilled Park.
